Board

President
Miriam is a native of North Carolina and attended Lenoir Rhyne College. She and husband Rick married in 1973 and moved to Chapel Hill where they lived and raised their daughter.

She retired from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with 27 years of service in educational logistics support to students and faculty focusing in basic medical sciences followed by 3 years as the business manager in the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. For many years, Miriam coordinated the United Fund efforts for her department personnel.

In 2008, Miriam and Rick discovered Trilogy at Power Ranch as a vacation location while looking for a base for spring and fall baseball seasons. They rented homes in the fall and spring months for several seasons. The experience was outstanding as the community offered a friendly atmosphere. Finally, in 2010 they purchased their home in Trilogy maintaining the vacation schedule until the permanent move in 2015.

Since moving into Trilogy as a permanent resident, Miriam has been very active in the Trilogy Niners’ Golf Club and is currently president of the group. She enjoys spending time with her friends playing golf, participating in the exercise classes offered at Trilogy, cooking, reading and other social activities.

Secretary
Before getting married, Linda worked as a legal secretary for a firm that handled all cases for Lloyds of London. She then worked in a small hospital in Brooklyn, NY, for 10 years, first as an admitting clerk and then as the secretary to the Director of Fiscal Affairs. She went back to what she loved to do and that was to work in the legal field in Intellectual Property for 10 years in NYC. Linda moved to Arizona in1996 where she became a paralegal and worked in the Intellectual Property field for 19 years until retiring in 2015. While working at the firm here she volunteered at St. Mary’s Food Bank.

She met her husband Jim in 2001 and they have been happily married ever since. They moved to Trilogy in 2017 to enjoy retirement and also to donate time to some great causes. She belongs to the Band of Angels where she delivers cards and angels to Trilogy residents who are experiencing illnesses, surgeries, loss of a loved one, etc. She is a member of the Trilogy Niners, Fun Savors, Wine and Dine and enjoy a lot of the activities that this community has to offer. She is also a social member of the Mahjong and Bocce clubs and served as co-Treasurer for Fun Savors for 2 years.

Treasurer
Lisa was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. After attending Mott Community College she was hired by a mortgage company. She spent five years in the industry, processing and preparing closing documents for government and conventional mortgages. After leaving the workforce in 1976 to start a family, she joined a title insurance company in 1985 and then managed the direct operation office of LandAmerica Financial Group until retiring in 2007.

She and her husband lived as snowbirds from 2013 to 2019 when they bought a house in Trilogy and moved there full time. They have two daughters and two granddaughters all living in Michigan.

Director
Don is a North Dakota native who, along with his wife Marcia, splits time between Trilogy and Minnesota. He served in an Associate’s role while guiding the development of a new website for the Foundation. He continues in that role now as a full member of the Board. A lifelong educator, Don taught elementary education for a few years before moving into higher education administration, and eventually into private business as a research and evaluation consultant. He has undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of North Dakota and a PhD from Arizona State University.

Don previously served on the Board of Storer Camps (Toledo YMCA) and participated in annual volunteer efforts after working summers there during his college years. He also worked with numerous non-profit agencies and programs over the years, writing grants for funding and evaluation purposes. Now fully retired, Don is looking forward to contributing to the Foundation’s efforts to support seniors in in the Southeast Valley. Much of his leisure time is spent on the golf course.

Director
Mike was born in Kansas City, Mo and is a graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in economics. After college he worked for several major corporations before starting a residential mortgage company which he owned until retirement in 2007. He previously served on the board of the foundation as president for 2 years. He also volunteers as a writer for The San Tan Press and is a resident of Trilogy. He has been happily married to Kay Larson for 40 years.

Director
Mary Manning joined the Foundation Board in March of 2025. She, and her husband Tom, moved to Trilogy in September of 2017. She was a teacher from 1990 to 2004 and continued to substitute and volunteer especially in her granddaughter’s classroom. Because of her love of the outdoors and animals, she also volunteered at the Phoenix Zoo. Mary and her husband love to travel and have taken many cruises. They have a daughter and family that live in Power Ranch and a son and family that live in Minnesota. They spend their summers at their cabin in the Heber/Overgard area where they golf, kayak and volunteer at their church’s thrift store. Mary played in several Foundation golf events and started suggesting a few changes. This led to her involvement in the Foundation as an Associate, soliciting prizes for raffle and auction items. Because of her desire to help others, this involvement eventually led to her becoming a board member.

Director
Originally from Brooklyn, NY, Fran spent most of her life in New Jersey, but has been a fulltime Trilogy resident for 5 years after spending 3 years as a part-timer. She is surrounded by family in the Gilbert area including an Aunt and Uncle who also live in Trilogy. Leading a very active lifestyle, Fran is active in pickleball, hiking and the fitness center.

Having a background in Human Resources, Fran has been very involved in serving the Trilogy community. She served as a member of the Election Committee for 2-1/2 years, managing and setting up communication in the ballroom for all the Election Town Halls and Meet the Candidates forums. In addition, she volunteers in the Café (Culinary Misfits) and assists with the Pickleball Club in a number of different roles.

Fran looks forward to working with the Foundation in helping seniors as she has already worked for Seniors helping Seniors and has volunteered for Parkinsons within the community.

Director
Ken was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI. He graduated from Marquette University with a BA in Social Work, along with a minor in Theology, and received a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Studies from St. Francis Seminary. After college he worked as a Social Worker with adolescents for five years, when he transitioned to Catholic Parish Ministry. In parish ministry, Ken worked with parishioners of all ages, from womb to tomb, and was usually a member of the various Social Concerns Committees. During that period, he also spent time as a stay-at-home parent and taught middle school religion for six years.

Throughout his life Ken has always had a keen interest in social services and that focus is what drew him to the TPR Foundation. Ken and his wife, Marcy, have lived in Trilogy since 2022, and just became full-time residents of Arizona in June of 2025. He enjoys tennis, swimming, biking, strength classes, and reading.
