Tree of Life
Tucked away behind the community’s swimming pools in Trilogy at Power Ranch is a quiet spot for reflection originally called the Tranquility Courtyard. Inspired by the events of 9-11, the original brick courtyard was covered by an expansive canopy of a large ironwood tree designated as the “The Tree of Life.” Benches provide an opportunity for quite respite for residents and visitors alike. The intention was not to label the tree and courtyard for any specific use, but to let Trilogy residents attach their own special memories to it when they visit. The regular courtyard bricks were gradually replaced by engraved bricks serving as memorials to friends and loved ones at the price of $200 which included the engraving, and is considered a tax-deductible donation.
In cooperation with the Trilogy at Power Ranch COA, the TPR Foundation upgraded the Tranquility Courtyard. The new project includes changing the name to the Tranquility Garden, removing the large tree that is in bad shape and building a metal Tree of Life Sculpture with leaves that can be inscribed with names of friends and family to be remembered. Flowers and landscaping will be done to improve the appearance of the garden and a third bench overlooking the sculpture and golf course is to be added. The Dakota social group, comprised of residents in Trilogy at Power Ranch, donated $2,000 toward this project to help get things started. The memorial bricks previously purchased by individuals and groups in remembrance of loved ones will continue to remain in place in the present plans, but the Foundation will also add leaves to the trees for each brick. You need not be a resident of Trilogy to purchase a memorial leaf.
Contact Linda Anderson (landerson28@cox.net or 480-688-9551) for more information on how to purchase a new Leaf.
Other revenue sources for the TPR Foundation come from special events that we plan and operate, such as the annual Bill Katz Memorial Golf Tournament and wine-tasting events.
