The Foundation is actively looking for volunteers and Board members. If the idea of helping others in your community appeals to you, please consider contacting Miriam (Miriam_Sluder@yahoo.com) to volunteer. Board members meet monthly and often have projects to work on during the month. Volunteers may want to work on one specific project and would only meet periodically during the time of the event. Working with the Foundation is extremely rewarding, and we would encourage anyone looking to help improve the quality of life in the Southeast Valley to check out the areas you might consider helping with. We invite you to check on the Foundation’s website (tprfoundation.org) to stay informed of the latest events. We want to remind you that it is easy to sign up or register for upcoming events on the website and to learn how the Board aids Trilogy and the Southeast Valley senior community.
Spotlight on Foundation Board Volunteers
Board Member/Acting Vice President: Mike Larson has returned to the Foundation Board after taking a few years off. Mike spent many years on the Board including as President for two years. Mike was instrumental in getting the Tree of Life sculpture designed and installed during his hiatus from the Board. We are pleased to welcome him back. Mike was born in Kansas City, MO and is a graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in economics. After college, he worked for several major corporations before starting a residential mortgage company which he owned until retirement in 2007. As a board member, Mike worked on many projects including the Bench Program, the golf tournaments, and the purchase of exercise and rehab equipment for the Fitness Center. He and his wife, Kay, have been happily married for 40 years and moved to Trilogy in 2012. Together, they enjoy travel and time with family and friends.
Update on Foundation Programs and Events:
Fall Wine Tasting Event: The Foundation’s annual fall wine tasting event on November 3rd at Slate’s was sold out. Participants in the event tasted five different wines paired with five separate small courses. All profits from this and every event sponsored by the TPR Foundation are used to support senior citizens in the Southeast Valley. Slate’s made a $5 donation to the Foundation for every bottle of wine sold at the event. We thank Andrew and his team for their generous support of the Foundation. The next wine tasting will be help on Monday, January 26th at 4:00 PM. This will be a full 4-course meal specifically prepared to highlight the wines selected for each course. The cost is $120 per person. More information will be provided on the Foundation website (tprfoundation.org) and through TPR electronic pushes.
