Update on Foundation Programs and Events

Rodger Page, Past President

As Spring turns into Summer, the TPR Foundation’s Board is concentrating on planning for future fund-raising events and vetting various organizations to receive grants of money. The board is currently planning for an October winetasting event and the annual golf event. The board is especially looking at the needs of the Trilogy at Power Ranch community. Many individuals from the community have donated funds to the Foundation to help aid needy senior citizens.

 TPR Foundation Website

Our website (tprfoundation.org) provides up-to-date information about our programs and work. Please take a few minutes to check out the website to learn more about the TPR Foundation. The website provides information about the Foundation’s programs, events, and donations. It has a calendar of events to keep you informed of upcoming events. It also provides information about the board and the board’s directors. Donations to the Foundation’s programs can also be made on the website. Don Vangsnes and Linda Anderson oversee the website and attempt to keep all information updated.

Trilogy Clubhouse Coffee Bar

The Foundation has agreed to sponsor the coffee bar in the Trilogy Clubhouse for one year beginning in June. They will also post activities and news there. We encourage folks to stop by and enjoy the refreshments. We hope that it will create a nice area for socializing and meeting with your friends and neighbors.

New Board Member

Mary Manning has helped the Foundation with various activities in the past as an Associate. She has agreed to join the Board as a Director. We welcome her to the organization. At the same time, we need both Board members and Associates to help with and expand the efforts of the Foundation. If interested, please contact one of the Board members or apply on the website by providing information on your interest in either a board or associate position. Many hands make light work for all. During 2024, individuals donated more than 900 hours to the Foundation and the Foundation donated over $30,000 to various groups serving senior citizens in the East Valley

Tree of Life

Most leaf orders for the Tree of Life in the Tranquility Garden have been inscribed and placed on the sculpture. As many know, the original Tree of Life was dedicated in 2011 and was a rescue from a tree impacted by the fall of the Twin Towers on 9-11. The tree became diseased several years ago and had to be removed. Also, at the same time, the memorial pavers that surrounded the Tree of Life began to fade and wear. The idea was presented to the Foundation that the tree be replaced by a sculpture of a tree with leaves that could be inscribed in remembrance of a loved one or friend in place of the pavers. All the names and information on the original memorial pavers have been inscribed on leaves and placed on the sculpture although the original pavers also remain in place. Leaves may be ordered from the Foundation in remembrance of a loved one for $200 per leaf.

The Foundation’s Mission: To work in partnership with community organizations to improve the health, well-being, and quality of life for senior adults living in the Southeast Valley communities, including Trilogy at Power Ranch.
