TPR Foundation Happenings

TPR Logo

November is a month to celebrate, and Thanksgiving and we want to take this opportunity to say “Thank you” to everyone who has supported the Foundation through donations and participation in our events. Because of individuals like you, the Foundation has been able to provide support for AZCEND’s meal delivery program, Hospice of the Valley’s Dementia Center, Tempe’s water program for homeless seniors, various Trilogy projects, and many other programs to aid senior citizens in need. Only through your involvement can we continue to provide this assistance so “thank you” again. Happy Holidays to one and all.

Update on Foundation Programs and Events:

Bill Katz Memorial Golf Tournament

The fall golf event will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd at the Power Ranch Golf Club. Fred Williams is coordinating the event this year. The format is being changed because we are scheduled for a December date. The most obvious changes are that there is only one tee time (8;30 AM), the event will be limited to 144 golfers, and we will have a few on-course games. The price for this event remains at $130 per golfer. Registration is currently available. Registration forms may be picked up at the Golf Pro Shop in Trilogy or you may register on our updated website.

Website Redesign

Check out the TPR Foundation’s new website at “tprfoundation.org.” It contains a calendar of events, provides opportunities to register for events and to donate to the Foundation online. There are photos and news articles to keep you informed. The website offers an effortless way to register to participate in the upcoming golf event also. We are looking for several individuals with computer backgrounds to help keep the website updated. Please contact Linda Anderson (landerson28@cox.net) if interested.

 Wine Tasting Event

Fifty-eight individuals gathered at Slate’s for the October winetasting event on Monday, October 28th.  In addition to the wines provided by A-to-Z Wineworks and the amazing appetizers provided by Slate’s, event goers participated in an auction of 5 different baskets of assorted wines, delicacies, and games, a raffle for 4 additional wine baskets, and a 50/50 drawing. The night closed with drawings for prizes that included Vito’s gift cards, TPR Foundation hats and mugs, a gift card for a free month at the Fitness Center, a Jasmine candle, and a Slate Wine Basket. Cindy Walker won $380 in the 50/50 drawing. Auction winners were Tom Manning, Jan Griggsmiller, Robin Fitch, Tracy Grunig, and Dennis Redmon. Raffle winners were Tom Manning, Bonnie West, Betsy Katz, and Kathleen Donahoe. Drawing winners included Sandy Eggers, Jim Anderson, Dan Powell, Robin Fitch, Rose Ford, Dan Powell, Nancy Powell, Lil Reynolds, James Marbury, Rodger Page, and Bev Berbeley. Fred Williams won the Slate Wine Basket valued at $125. Sue Marcin hosted the event and Joe Marcin served as the night’s auctioneer.

On Monday, January 27th, the Foundation will host a 4-course meal with a paired wine tasting with each course. In March, we will also hold another Wine Tasting with appetizers. Plan to come and enjoy the fun. You will also be able to register for these events and choose a table on our newly redesigned website. Details on cost and registration will be provided in a future issue of the San Tan Press. As always, we appreciate everyone who helps support the Foundation through attendance at our events and through your donations.

The Foundation’s Mission: To work in partnership with community organizations to improve the health, well-being, and quality of life for senior adults living in the Southeast Valley communities, including Trilogy at Power Ranch.
